Quick Start Guide

Step Instructions
1. Inoculate Clean injection port with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Inject 5–10 mL of liquid culture or spore solution. Gently shake to distribute.
2. Colonize Store at 70–75°F in a clean, dark space. Once 20–30% colonized, gently mix (optional) to speed growth. Allow 10–18 days for full colonization.
3. Combine Mix colonized grain with the 5 lb CVG substrate. Combine inside a monotub or directly in the bag for bag fruiting. Level the surface gently.
4. Incubate Maintain 70–75°F in indirect light. Allow 5–10 days for full substrate colonization.
5. Initiate Fruiting Introduce light and fresh air. Crack the lid (for tubs) or cut small slits in the bag and cover with micropore tape if needed.
6. Mist & Monitor Mist walls as needed to maintain humidity. Pins typically appear in 5–7 days once fruiting conditions are introduced. Adjust airflow as needed.

Storage & Shelf Life

  • Store sealed between 45–70°F until use
  • Best used within 15–30 days of receipt
  • Do not freeze; refrigerate fully colonized grain only if necessary
  • Timelines vary depending on genetics and environment

the grain: i picked milo took off nicely, 2 cc’s per bag, 5 bags per syringe. Works very nice, bags will be done withing a week. I should break and shake right now but, I think ill wait another week or so. As for the bulk substrate, looks great ive been keeping it in our storage room, its super chilly in there. And, it should work great when the time comes. Personally, ive never had issues with any of the bags ive purchased. I hardly inoc in my SAB anymore, as theres no need I just flame sterilize the needle, and inoculate.
