The Small Monotub Refill Kit is perfect for topping off your setup with the essentials: a 3 lb sterile Milo grain bag and a 3 lb CVG substrate block. Both arrive vacuum-sealed and ready to use. Choose your workflow — fruit in a monotub or go directly in-bag for a simplified run.

Quick Start Guide

Step Instructions
1. Inoculate the Grain Clean injection port with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Inject 4–10 mL of liquid culture or spore solution. Gently shake to distribute.
2. Incubate the Grain Store at 70–75°F in a clean, dark space. Once 30–70% colonized, gently mix to speed up growth (optional). Allow 10–18 days for full colonization.
3. Mix with Substrate Combine colonized grain with the 3 lb CVG substrate. Mix inside your monotub or directly in the bag for fruiting. Gently flatten the surface.
4. Incubate Store the tub or bag at 70–75°F in indirect light. Allow 5–10 days for full substrate colonization.
5. Initiate Fruiting Introduce light and fresh air. Crack the lid (for tubs) or cut small slits in the bag and cover with micropore tape for airflow if needed.
6. Mist & Monitor Mist tub walls or bag interior as needed. Keep the surface moist and watch for pins in 5–7 days.

Storage & Shelf Life

  • Store sealed between 45–70°F until ready
  • Best used within 15–30 days of receipt
  • Do not freeze; refrigerate fully colonized bags only if necessary

the grain: i picked milo took off nicely, 2 cc’s per bag, 5 bags per syringe. Works very nice, bags will be done withing a week. I should break and shake right now but, I think ill wait another week or so. As for the bulk substrate, looks great ive been keeping it in our storage room, its super chilly in there. And, it should work great when the time comes. Personally, ive never had issues with any of the bags ive purchased. I hardly inoc in my SAB anymore, as theres no need I just flame sterilize the needle, and inoculate.
